I survived my review. It was really a positive, supportive experience and I received lots of good feedback. And man oh man, am I ever glad it is over. I actually wanted to fly as I was leaving the restaurant (we do reviews off-site…it’s not as weird as it sounds). It was stressing me out and I’m glad it’s in my rearview mirror. phew.
Today’s Holiday Song of the Day: Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), Mariah Carey. Her Christmas album, released in 1994, is so good. It has aged remarkably well and doesn’t feel dated (to me). It feels familiar. The linked version of this song is a live performance from last December that’s actually pretty terrible but I linked to it because she does something that would have never been permitted in JPAC: she throws things into the audience from the stage!
At its heart, it’s a catchy pop song that manages to marry melancholy lyrics to a super catchy, pop-py melody. Have a listen. Buy the album. You’ll be glad you did.
UPDATE: As a nod to today’s expected snowfall in Houston, I’ve made it snow on lifewithheather.com today. If you’re an RSS reader, visit the site to see the snow.
